I got a pillow system from Amazon that helped a lot. Sleeping a bit elevated kept me from rolling over. It also makes it easier to get up. At first I used the two half cylinder pillows on either side of me because I was afraid of rolling over, but didn't even bother with those after a night or two. Same to you! I would definitely recommend getting a gaitor mask it has made the brace more tolerable. It has also allowed me to have ice on my neck with that added layer from the gaitor. I rolled up a couple of towels on each side to keep me from flipping over during the night. Also, I would suggest you start sleeping like this a couple of weeks prior to your surgery, if only for 3-4 nights a week. Get your body used to it. Good luck!

Make sure ur sling/brace (whatever u call it) is fitted to you at your pre op appointment. Many people can’t sleep well because their brace isnt properly fitting them. . Looking in mirror your shoulders should be in alignment. 1shoulder shouldn’t be higher or lower than other take into account some swelling if needed . Elbow bent at 40-35 degrees making hand higher than elbow. and hand should ideally palm facing torso, not palm up or palm down first 2 weeks if you had biceps done. Hand should not be visible- sticking out of sling - fingers a little past sling is ok but if hand/wrist is outside of sling it’s too small or elbow isn’t in elbow pocket like it needs to be for proper support use the finger support first 2 weeks also . Abduction pillow is between brace and torso, not under sling/brace . Abduction pillow and it’s belt depending upon your individual body proportions to be in proper shoulder alignment/torso length /arm length might be more around rib cage , just under sternum not around waist. finally As you wear the brace it puts strain on straps often causing what was initially a great fit to become too loose in just a few days and you will need to be able to shorten straps to insure shoulder is properly supported and arm is positioned correctly. Your brace straps should have alligator Velcro anchors which allows you to easily shorten/change strap length Currently po wk 3 .
