I always say stick with known brands like VIOFO and VanTrue. For a solo cam, I’d go with either the A119 Mini2 or the VanTrue E1. Both are compact and discrete though that the E1 is more compact. The A119 has the Starvis 2 sensor which really helps with night time. Again, it’s front only but it’ll cover you in most situations and It’ll be easier to install. For a dual cam, the A229 Plus is the way to go. It has the Starvis2 sensor so night time quality is the same. It’s 1440p on both the front and the rear cams. I also recently just got the VanTrue S1 Pro Max which has a nice coupon right now. Its the most high end cam I’ve owned and I gotta say the app it really good. So if you want a front and rear cam, I’d go with those. Just get a max endurance memory card since dashcams get exposed to a lot of hot and cold temps being mounted in the windshield

Good pro tip. Other tip is to check your memory card every once in a while and when you get one, Get a max endurance memory card and you’ll be good to go. Being on the windshield, dash cams get exposed to a lot of extreme temperatures both hot and cold and it’s usually the memory card but fails much earlier than a good reliable dash cam.

Yes, it’s a good camera though I always avoid buying from Walmart. For a dual cam, I’d go with the A229 Plus. It also uses the Starvis 2 sensor for excellent nighttime quality and records at 1440p on both the front and rear cams, which is great. There is also the A229 Pro version that upgrades the front cam recording to 4K and is an option if it’s in your budget. Just get a max endurance memory card and you’ll be good to go.

I have and I like the VIOFO A229 Plus Dash Cam Front and Rear, it's highly rated and has a good daytime/nighttime sensor switch. You can look through r/dashcams for further well-regarded dash cams. In terms of looking seamless and hidden, it's all just a matter of getting it installed well, which includes tucking the cables away and out of sight. Best Buy will do a front & rear dash cam install for $150. Car stereo shops also offer this service but youll need to call your local shops and ask for their prices. Keep in mind youll need a SD card, which is what the video files get recorded onto; some dash cams come with this and some don't. The one I listed doesn't. They tend to not come with a great SD card anyhow. I recommend a high endurance SD card like this one since it’ll be continually re-writing data over itself, and at least 128gb. And then you'll also need a SD card reader to plug into your computer, thankfully those tend to be very cheap.

Definitely a good option and I know some people do this. The only thing to check is to make sure your rear outlet turns off with the car, which it probably does. Just get a max endurance memory card since dashcams get exposed to a lot of hot and cold temps being mounted in the window.

The best bang for the buck dashcam is the A119 Mini 2 right now. It’s under $100 and has the new Starvis 2 sensor, which really helps in low-light and nighttime conditions. It records in 2K resolution, comes with GPS, and is super easy to install since it’s only a front cam. I’ve had an older version of this cam format 6 years in a hot climate and it still is working great. Pair it with a max endurance memory card and you’ll be good to go.

Which airbag? In the A pillar? You can wire it in a way that doesn’t interfere with it. But yes, you should definitely avoid interfering with the airbag so it doesn’t become a projectile. I’d say go with either the A119 mini or the A229 plus. Both have the Starvis 2 sensor which really helps with night time. The A119 Mini 2 is cheaper and 2k resolution...which can marginally do better image quality. But it’s only a front cam. It’ll be easier to install though. If you’re looking for a dual cam then, the A229 Plus is the way to go. Like I said, it has the same sensor so night time quality is the same. It’s 1440p on the front and 1440p on the rear cam...still very respectable. So if you want a front and rear cam, I’d go with that. Just get a max endurance memory card and you’ll be good to go.

I have used my VIOFO and VanTrue cams in Arizona weather for the last 7 years. I always say stick with known brands like VIOFO and VanTrue. For a solo cam, I’d go with either the A119 Mini2 or the VanTrue E1. Both are compact and discrete though that the E1 is more compact. The A119 has the Starvis 2 sensor which really helps with night time. Again, it’s front only but it’ll cover you in most situations and It’ll be easier to install. For a dual cam, the A229 Plus is the way to go. It has the Starvis2 sensor so night time quality is the same. It’s 1440p on both the front and the rear cams. I also recently just got the VanTrue S1 Pro Max which has a nice coupon right now. Its the most high end cam I’ve owned and I gotta say the app it really good. So if you want a front and rear cam, I’d go with those. Just get a max endurance memory card since dashcams get exposed to a lot of hot and cold temps being mounted in the windshield

VIOFO is generally considered to be more reliable than Garmin. It paints me to say that because Garmin is an American brand but Viofo just does it better. I’d say go with either the A119 mini or the A229 plus. Both have the Starvis 2 sensor which really helps with night time. The A119 Mini 2 is cheaper and 2k resolution...which can marginally do better image quality. But it’s only a front cam. It’ll be easier to install though. If you’re looking for a dual cam then, the A229 Plus is the way to go. Like I said, it has the same sensor so night time quality is the same. It’s 1440p on the front and 1440p on the rear cam...still very respectable. So if you want a front and rear cam, I’d go with that. Just get a max endurance memory card and you’ll be good to go.

Best value for quality, imo. I think the one that was a tier above was $300+ and Blackvue is ultimate tier, but I think they're $500+. No matter what you'll want one with STARVIS 2 sensors. Totally agree! 2nd time Fitcamx owner, 1st time had a Fitcamx for nearly 4 yrs and never had any recording/saving issues but I upgraded the memory card from day one with this: https://a.co/d/08BnYBCv Last summer I purchased a new vehicle and got a new Fitcamx and am using the same memory card again without any issues. I would also recommend getting the polarized lens cover, it really helps bring the glare down and the video quality up closer to the industry leaders all the while keeping a super discreet and stealthy dashcam.
