https://a.co/d/0coNzqn9 these worked great for my facial scar and are advertised for abdominal incisions, I'm only 5wpo for hysterectomy so tbd, but I'm using them for this too. From what I've read about scar tape it seems to work mostly by creating a physical barrier to keep the scar moist, so I doubt there will be a huge difference between brands.

Not true re: cost of scar tape. What you might not realize is most scar tape is reusable. You wash it with handsoap, let it dry then reapply. It's $13-20 for a box that will last for at least a month or so depending on how well you take care of it between reuse. https://a.co/d/04jDDigZ Or https://a.co/d/0eCY6vpR Very affordable. I just finished my first box of it (started at 5 weeks and I'm 11 weeks post op now).

I cut a little rounded triangle piece of silicone and smooth it over my 11s to prevent the area from creasing at night. I prefer silicone because it’s hydrating so I can skip moisturizer there to help it stick better. One caveat is that it’s flexible so you do have to fortify it with another tape on top, just overtop silicone, not touching your skin. (I use regular scotch tape). Some other options to the silicone are smoothies patches or regular skin safe medical tape.
