Check out the r/HealthyHooha subreddit. Many, many women get this issue. It can be due to a few things: Poor partner hygiene - your man should be washing his dick and hands before either touches your vulva. He should brush his teeth and tongue before oral sex. Semen incompatibility - yes, your vaginal biome can be incompatible with your partners ejaculate. Some women have even had allergic reactions to different semen! pH balance being thrown off - Ejaculate is naturally basic. The vaginal biome is naturally acidic. If your man has a lot of precum and/or ejaculate, it can overtake your natural pH and shift your biome to basic, which can cause bacterial vaginosis when basic loving bacteria overtake the vaginal biome. It can also cause yeast infections. Here is what you can do: Make sure yourself and your partner are washing before sex. Make sure to urinate before and after sex to prevent UTIs. Take an oral vaginal probiotic that contains Lactobacillus crispatus, the main good bacteria of the vaginal biome. I use the Physician's Choice Vaginal Probiotics: https://a.co/d/0csH9vBmThis probiotic also contains the two strains that prevent UTIs, so extra protection! If you are using Lube, make sure that it does not have glycerin in the ingredients list. Buy a lube that is glycerin free and pH balanced like Sutil Hathor Pure or Sliquid organics lubes. If you are not using lube, and you experience any kind of vaginal dryness or chafing during sex, use lube!!! chafing and microtears caused by not producing enough natural lubricant can also lead to yeast infections. If all else fails, continue to use condoms unless you are actively trying for a baby. If your man is too whiny/selfish to continue using them in order to prevent your discomfort, then he's not worth having around. Other things to consider:If you are old enough to be in perimenopause, this can also cause an increase in yeast infections in general, especially during sex. Vaginal estrogen can help with this. It comes as a vaginal cream, vaginal tablet, or vaginal ring. They help to plump up the vaginal tissues and increase pH and lubrication all of which decrease with the loss of estrogen in perimenopause and menopause.

I used to get chronic UTIs, even just from masturbating. I like friction, my urethra did not lol. I looked up scientific journal articles on how to prevent recurrent UTIs. There are two specific strains of good bacteria that are almost as effective as low dose antibiotics for preventing recurrent UTIs:Limosilactobacillus ReuteriLacticaseibacillus Rhamnosus So now I take this probiotic that contains both of those and also Lactobacillus Crispatus, which also helps prevent UTIs and also helps keep your vaginal flora balanced. Probiotics I use: https://a.co/d/0bBT7gR2 I also take Cranberry PAC capsules, as those are also shown to help prevent recurrent UTIs: https://a.co/d/01jYAEDC I also drink 1.5-2L of water per day. I haven't had a UTI in almost a year now, which is a record for me.

Definitely try using an oral probiotic for vaginal health. I used to get yeast infections really easily, and chronic UTIs. I've been free from both for over two years now. This is the probiotic I use that contains the top two strains that prevent UTIs and the best strain for keeping your vaginal ecosystem stable:https://a.co/d/03drEnro

You should never be using water, feminine wash solutions, douche solutions or anything in your actual vagina. This can actually cause more infections and issues! The vagina has it's own microbiome environment. A healthy vagina has lots good bacteria(lactobacillus!) that give the vagina is classic tangy/bitter smell and taste. They maintain the vagina's natural low pH. The good bacteria keep the bad bacteria and yeast in check. When you douche or rinse out your vagina with water or other solutions, you clean out all of the good bacteria along with everything else. It can take longer for the good bacteria to build up to normal levels. Leaving you open to infection from bad bacteria or yeast. Instead of douching(the term for rinsing out your vagina with water or other solutions), i would highly reccomend using something like Gynalac, a vaginal suppository gel that helps lower the pH of your vagina to normal levels and feeds the good bacteria. I also highly recommend a good vaginal probiotic that you take orally and contains the lactobacillus crispatus strain, the most prevalent good bacteria in the vagina. This is the probiotic I use, it also contains the two strains that studies have shown help to prevent UTIs: https://a.co/d/07XUzB8F

The soreness and swollen feeling could definitely be from the drop in estrogen, vaginal atrophy is common for women in menopause. I'm in perimenopause at 40 and use an estrogen patch and take progesterone(because i have a uterus still. You wouldn't need to if you don't have one). Vaginal estrogen can also help with this. The UTIs can also be related. All of the tissue down there including the tissue of and surrounding your urethra can atrophy, becoming thinner and easier to irritate and tear. Edit: another thing that I found useful is taking a vaginal probiotic that contains the specific strains that help prevent UTIs and BV. I use this one: https://a.co/d/01IkcEWl
