I just had my surgery on Thursday, and I’ve been using this hysterectomy pillow multiple times a day. I used it on the car ride home after surgery and put my seatbelt over it. It also comes with a gel pack that you can freeze or heat up: https://a.co/d/0cKTMUNG Also, I had my husband install toilet safety rails and they’ve allowed me to go to the bathroom independently: https://a.co/d/0cViXmDu I’ve also been using my reacher-grabber frequently to pick up things that I need from the floor. I recommend buying some cough drops and bringing them in your hospital bag. Your throat will be dry post surgery and it will not feel pleasant to cough. Good luck with your surgery. You got this!

I’m a year on after my stroke, and when I first got home from the rehab hospital I bought a lot of ability-assist junk on Amazon. Most of it, I no longer use. This is the folding one I bought for the toilet, and soon I’ll donate it to my village or township “nurse’s closet” or lending library. See if your town has a service something like this. https://a.co/d/05svsiaw What helped me most was doing some of the “sit to stand” exercises I was taught at rehab.
