Echoing other comments: get disability before any official medical appointments. this is likely a nerve issue. I had a very similar nerve injury at 29. I was very physically active (jiu jitsu competitor, lifting weights, swim/run). I had numbness down to my thumb, index and middle fingers. pain at all times, driving, washing dishes, prepping crowns, sleeping hurt as well. sometimes i would go to sleep hoping i wouldn't wake up in the morning cuz the pain was so bad. it was a dark time in my life. It is very likely a c5/c6 herniation impinging on the nerve and leading to poor muscle activation. went to the doctors, but got bounced around. they wanted to drug me up and told me to stop doing my activities and working. gave up on the medical system from this event. what helped me was slowly easing back into weight training specific muscles, ergo loupes and standing while i work. this happened back in november 2019, and it still lingers. i still do corrective exercises daily and yes it is a drag to do them, but taking your own health into your own hands is very empowering. this book helped me immensely: https://www.amazon.com/Becoming-Supple-Leopard-2nd-Performance/dp/1628600837 it helped me understand what poor posture is, how to move and breathe correctly. no one understands the pain you're going thru unless they went thru it themselves. i hope you heal quickly.
