Ah I know just how you feel. The Breg is a beast!! I mean, I feel super safe in it for my nwb for now, but i just shopped for a shorter lightweight boot for sleeping and for using the knee scooter. The one I picked out is this one. It arrives Tuesday so I’ll give you a report later this week. https://a.co/d/008TIaFo

Not a cast, but a boot, something like this: (Amazon US link) The injury is nothing serious -- you will be fine, quick. The other poster here is a doctor according to their flare. I am not a doctor. But to me, it sounds crazy not to wear a boot for first 10-14 days. You want to protect your foot in those early days from getting worse or hit, etc. My break was only 2mm (larger than yours, but still small). I train like an athlete. And I could not walk two steps after breaking mine. So the thought of just walking around on it, or not protecting it, just seems crazy to me. But again, I am not a doctor. So this is just my opinion. Good luck.
