This is really interesting to hear and I reckon it'll be a good option for you. If you aren't walking much to begin with, you can probably get the thinnest ones you can find because you're not really "transitioning" as such. I can see how the thin soles and the flat bottoms of a Converse style shoe might give you more stability. If price is a concern, I think your 2 best options are either an Amazon special or one of the thinner models from Splay. For Splay, their Rev models are basically Vans skate shoes, so if you like that sort of thing, you'd like them. Their Freestyle is another option and might be more flexible, but are also lower volume. Both have removable insoles. Splay has sales regularly and also has an online "outlet" with discounts. If you like how flat the soles are on Vans, look at the Rev models. https://splayshoes.com/products/rev-lt-los-angeles?variant=41281226342463 For Amazon shoes, folks tend to like Whitins and Hobibear. I only have one pair from Whitin, but they were cheap and the soles are pretty flexible (again, remove insoles for more ground feel). I think those all vary in ground feel, but I have the canvas ones from Whitin and they've held up really well. They're some of my thinnest soles.
