She’s got curly, fine hair like I had when I was little. My family opted for very short cuts because they didn’t want to learn how to work with it. While conditioning the hair in the shower, use a wide-toothed comb (like this) to detangle the hair. You may need more conditioner than you think just to ensure you detangle it without pain. Rinse thoroughly. Then use a curl cream (like this) generously while the hair is soaking wet. Flip the hair upside down, work it into your hands and run your fingers through the hair from ends to roots, gently scrunching toward the root to distribute the product upward. Use a microfiber towel to gently scrunch most of the moisture out of the hair, then you can either use a diffuser attachment on a hairdryer (pointed toward the floor so the air goes down the shaft of hair, preventing frizz) or air dry (I prefer air drying).
