You can also use the Aveeno oatmeal body wash or a generic version of it. It's very gentle on skin. I usually squirt some into the tub of water and dip the wash cloth into it. And then have a small tub of clean water where I dip another wash cloth into to get the soap off. Never use bar soap, especially if you have hard water. It reacts with hard water and leaves behind an imperceptible film that you can't wash off. You want a body wash or shower gel instead. Unscented castile liquid soap is also another good choice, as someone mentioned, as it is very gentle too. Dr Bronner's has one for babies that is fragrance free. Then follow up with powder in spots he gets sweaty and some lotion. The Aveeno oatmeal lotion, or its equivalent, is a good one and was suggested by my parent's medical provider. Their skin gets very dry with age and especially with the bed baths, so it's an important step. I also find the spray on deodorant easier to apply than the stick kind. The XL bath wipes I only use for pits and bits, as they say, between baths, if they get too sweaty or to clean them up after bowel movements. I do not like them for full washing outside of using it as a one off in a pinch or for the armpits and after a diaper change. They also sell large disposable under pads that I place underneath them. You can get a 30x36 size maximum absorption pack at Walmart under the Assurance brand. Amazon also sells hospital bed length reusable underpads, like these. These are the ones I use and they are much better than the smaller ones. I use the reusable pad plus a couple of the disposable ones, one under the head (to wash their hair) and one under their bum and maybe one under their feet if the washable pad got pulled up too much
