Guitar Making - William Cumpiano Any of Irving Sloan's books are good, but you'll need to go used, as they are out of print. Guitar Finishing Step-By-Step is the best book on any aspect of guitar building I've ever read. It really will teach you everything you need to know to get a professional quality guitar finish. The only thing you need to add to it is practice! Combine that with the fact that there is NO good finishing advice on the internet.....well, it's a really valuable book. I read it after finishing guitars professionally for decades, and still learned some stuff.
