Amazon has replacements for the CC2 now. That thermal compound is Boron Nitride thermal paste which is different then thermal grease. It becomes dry at 100C and bonds to the ceramic heater and thermistor in the little hole in the hotend body. When you remove the heater and thermistor that bond is broken and new paste is needed for proper heat transfer. Regular computer thermal grease will not work. CPU's work up to a max of 125C which isn't enough to extrude filaments, 180C-420C+. The CC2 hotend works up to 350C.
