When doing a house map run, I picked up all my throw rugs, small trash cans, shoes, and clothing off the floor so the robot could see where everything is. I also did a whole house vacuum with everything picked up as well. Now I placed everything back in its place so going forward it would just go around those objects unless I want to do an in-depth cleaning again. There is an are you got to so you can defy which type of rug or throw rug you have on the ground. There is a selection for mat style rugs which I selected for my padded mats and I choose regular carpet rugs for cloth type. As far as using Schedule; I chose to use CleanGenius on rooms that are Tile Floors and I use Custom on Carpet Floors, which I say remove mops when vacuuming. The first couple of runs using the mop, the dirty water was really brown. Also, pop out the robot filter and run a hand vacuum on it to clear out all the debris stuck in it. There are a lot of settings to choose from. Just take your time and click on everyone to see if there is some other settings you want turned ON or OFF.
