You make valid points, I'm no engineer. I just preheated mine and used it for the first time in ages, after reading your post. It still doesn't work very well. As an overpriced "travel mug", allowing one to go to work aglow in Fellowship™, sure. My benchmark will always be the Stanley thermos, icon of the working man. The handle was the weak point. A couple of hose clamps around the body after it broke turned it into a statement piece. The narrow top opening (and eventual pour-through lid), was one basic engineering principle (heat retention) Fellow willfully ignored. https://www.amazon.com/Stanley-Classic-Vacuum-Bottle-Hammertone/dp/B000FZX93K/ref=pd_ci_mcx_mh_mcx_views_0_image?pd_rd_w=FHrPD&content-id=amzn1.sym.781fe6e1-9487-4a74-b81e-5a879e5ec273%3Aamzn1.symc.c3d5766d-b606-46b8-ab07-1d9d1da0638a&pf_rd_p=781fe6e1-9487-4a74-b81e-5a879e5ec273&pf_rd_r=CWEP9ZP95BZZ85H5BANK&pd_rd_wg=L3KRA&pd_rd_r=9c4563e1-a219-49e0-9801-54e44063df37&pd_rd_i=B000FZX93K&th=1
