Clay litter contains silica which creates airborne dust that irritates both cat and human respiratory systems. Clay litter also contains sodium bentonite which cats inadvertently consume while grooming which can lead to digestive tract issues. Pine is dust free, non-toxic/tracking and also does a better job of handling the bad odor of cat pee ammonia. If using pine litter, this box is what I recommend - it has saved me tons of money on litter, I went from restocking every 3 weeks for my two cats to now restocking on litter every 3 months. https://a.co/d/0hoixn10
