Iron no, it’s fine. Tbh depending on how fancy the celebration is you may want to tuck it in, and a blazer wouldn’t hurt. Good call on the undershirt. With that being said: unless it’s part of a suit, avoid white. It’s stiff, boring, and formal. I never wear my white button up outside of interviews and funerals. You can find so many dress shirts at reasonable prices. Hell Calvin Klein has a line of dress shirts on Amazon which are under $25 and are pretty decent quality. (I highly recommend either lavender or salmon) Get the right colored dress shirt and you can even pair it with a coordinating tie!
