I use a simple timer-outlet adapter. I found this at my local hardware store for $15. Depending on the state of charge I press 1-hour, 2-hour , or 4-hour to charge it up to 80-90%. It turns on a small power strip that enables the charger and a small fan. The fan is pointed at the power block, scooter battery controller, and battery pack. When the timer expires the charger and fan automatically turn off saving a bit of power. I do this to keep things cool and reduce the chances of overheating the battery and battery controller. Heat is the enemy of electronics in general. I am not sure how much this will prevent wear and tear on the electronics, but I think it is a good idea to be mindful of large batteries in a living space. The one I found can also be bought online for cheap. STANLEY TimerMax Indoor Countdown Timer: https://www.amazon.com/STANLEY-TimerMax-Indoor-Countdown-Shut-Off/dp/B01BV34WSK
