Yeah we’ve had these. They do keep odors down a little. Had two similar to this: https://a.co/d/0gbVAUiW Our cats tended to pee over the edge of the litter box, though. Made the inside of the cabinet a bit grungy. We tried lining them with pee pads, which worked but was annoying. A larger, lidded box was just easier to maintain, and also keeps the smell down pretty well vs. an open-top box. You might also try different cat litter. I swear by Tidy Cat, but opinions vary and it’s probably worth experimenting.
