I use a relatively inexpensive solution which involves a document camera. I connect the document camera to my monitor and have it as a camera window. It has all the standard auto-focus /zoom / color filters / freeze / brightness controls of something 10x its price. Here's what I use: https://a.co/d/0aYxwEEn The super low cost solution I used before I got this document camera was a clip-on phone holder like this: https://a.co/d/0cP6iqCI I just mount that on the desk, clip my phone in and use it as a stationary digital magnifier. Google has its own magnifier app, or you could use another good one called weZoom. I'm not sure what's available on Apple, but I'm sure there are several options.
