Absolutely this. Also, check your state labor laws. If you’re working more than 6 hours in a day it’s illegal in most states for you not to be given a lunch break. The note piece varies so much clinic to clinic. If you’re not able to write notes as you go and they’re not going to provide you with devices to manage this, I’d snag a small notepad (something along these lines: https://a.co/d/0edbpqFK) to jot things down in as you go. A couple of sentences about each hour you’re with your client, list off programs run, list off behaviors that occurred (you don’t need a count, just make a list of which behaviors you collect data for that occurred during your session), and jot down super brief ABC data if anything out of the ordinary happened so you can elaborate if a something unusual for your client happened. (E.g., A-> walk to desk -> client grabbed a boom and threw it at me C -> finished walking to desk.) Then at least you’re not wracking your brain at the end of the day to remember what happened and can get through them pretty quickly. Careful to only use client initials on this so you don’t violate HIPPA!
