I use a small bag from Amazon (https://a.co/d/02XwrJjV). I have my log book, sectional, yoke mount, and iPad in it normally. I clip a battery powered CO monitor to the outside and have a hand held radio as a back up. I keep a vomit bad and stress ball for my wife in it as well and a couple pens. There is also a pair of foggles in my bag because someone misplaced the normal pair in our school plane. It doesn't take up much room has all my essentials. My headset has a separate small case that it stays protected in. I use a carabineer from harbor freight to keep them together. I started with a much larger bag and have downsized as I realized I didn't need to take as much during training or short (<300 mile) cross countries. I do take a small container that has 2 days of medications just in case. I tend to over plan for things that will go wrong. I figured I wanted enough to but limit what I was taking.
