Yeah, it's pretty painless if you are buying the actual Creality upgraded hotend (This is the one I got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7GX6PCH ) Just follow the instructions then do a bed leveling. Once thats done adjust your z-offset manually using the paper trick and you should be good. I used Orca Slicer for my KE and let it do the automatic 25 point bed leveling before each print and never really had a issue with my prints.
