Idk what's available in Australia but I have naturally curly/wavy (2c/3a mixed) hair and use Garnier cleansing shampoo. I use Aussie shampoo in between. I use Pantene conditioner and Pantene leave in. I also use this scalp serum. I like IGK good behavior and antisocial hair sprays for bond building and heat protection, although they're not drugstore. I use L'Ador wonder oil. I do heat style but when I wear my hair natural the only product I change is I add a hair gel for hold. I make my own gel rn so I don't have a link.

Get a trim. Wet your hair down with clean water before getting in the pool. Use an oil on your ends before showering (leave in for 10 minutes) Get a good clarifying shampoo. Drugstore is great. Garnier has a good 3-4 dollar one. Use it at least once a week, and use your normal shampoo the rest of the time. Use a bond repair conditioner. You're looking for the ingredient "amodimethicone" and/or "bisamino propyl dimethicone" in drugstore products and claims like "repairing," "bond building," "bond repair," etc. Cheap is fine, better even. Pantene is great. I think L'Oreal has some good ones too. Get a good leave-in. Look for those same ingredients I mentioned; they work in leave-ins too. Dove, L'Oreal, and Pantene are all great. I would recommend a hair oil in addition to the leave in if it doesn't weigh down your hair/make it look greasy. Wear your hair up while you sleep so it doesn't rub against your pillow all night. Get a medicated shampoo like Nizoral or Head and Shoulders to use between the clarifying washes for the flakes. If it's not dandruff it won't help much, but it's also good for your scalp in general so it won't hurt. You could also use this scalp serum as it's got an anti dandruff agent in it (piroctone olamine). All of these tips come from something called the Abbey Yung method but I've modified them since I have a bit of cosmetic chemistry knowledge. You can look her up on insta, YT, or tiktok. She's very knowledgeable about haircare and her advice is solid. She mostly recommends drugstore products as well which is a plus.
