I have a mini pill case that lives in my purse that has pain, heartburn, allergy and tummy medication (pepto). I add immodium and cold meds when traveling. I also have a small pouch that has bandaids, hydrocortisone, electrolytes, calamine lotion, Vaseline and a thermometer. These are all travel sizes, so they don't take up much room. Eta this is the pill case that I use. Takes up next to no room, the stickers are super helpful for organization and depending on how sick you are it's enough to last an entire trip or at least stabilize you enough to get to a pharmacy.
