Relatively new homeowners here OP and just learning the ropes like you as we go along. I recommend you consider these guys for the water heater install... Look for a fleck or a clack valve water softener as they are considered the toyota/ honda versions of water softeners meaning they last and are easily repairable. Spend some time in the relevant water softener threads (here and here). This is a thread I created during my research before we purchased ours and we haven't regretted it since we got the softener about a year ago. We also bought and had the plumber install this under the kitchen sink RO and its been great so far. Just make sure whatever RO you decide on will have relatively cheap and easy to find filters like ours since that will be the ongoing expense you'll need to account for in the future. Good luck!

OK, thanks guys... so if I understand correctly I should NOT get the RO system that includes remineralization (Like this one: https://a.co/d/03IlMFky)

Been running this for 5+ years, great customer service, they replaced the faucet and bunch of quick connect fittings after 3y for free. Cheap filters as well https://a.co/d/0bStNb8x
