In addition to desensitizing him to the harness, I recommend picking up a harness you don't have to put his legs through. We have had a few of those over the years and they always made putting on the harness harder than it needed to be. Get one that you put the dogs head through then buckle behind their legs and you will be amazed at how much quicker and with less fuss you can get it on.. We love this one, we have three in different colors for three of our dogs currently, but we have bought 6 because we keep leaving them out and they get chewed up 🤣.
