An example I like of someone who was ahead of his time. Levis Strauss, the blue jeans guy, died in 1902. He never married & had no children. Among other things, he left substantial financial legacies to his nieces. His will made sure that the legacies went directly to his nieces and that their husbands could't manage the money.
