I second TWR! I have NOT researched this, but it would not surprise me if TWR is taken from 3.8 paragraph essays (3 main ideas in 8 sentences) and sentence combining by William Strong (https://www.amazon.com/Sentence-combining-composing-William-Strong/dp/0394317033). TWR places writing in the framework of "writing is thinking" and leads student through word based, sentence based, and paragraph focused thought. She also brings in note taking strategies!
