Outside of California, this type of solution would be feasible to add to a hybrid inverter setup. This is just one of several options: https://jmhpower.com/product/20kwh-battery-lithium-deep-cycle/ In California, you'll need the storage to be CEC-listed in order to be permitted and allowed on a grid-connected setup. I think this is the least expensive such option available *today*: https://www.amazon.com/ECO-WORTHY-LiFePO4-Capacity-Bluetooth-Off-Grid/dp/B0DR8H2M9X You'll still need a rack (fairly inexpensive) and installation, and will involve some cabling. But I don't think it'll be much longer before the whole OTS product will be well under $3k. When sodium-ion batteries for fixed storage become available in the next couple of years or so, the cost of solar-tied battery solutions could drop dramatically. BTW, I think we're at a point where labor is clearly the most expensive component of solar. For those experienced and comfortable with DIY -- and we're talking heavy duty electrical, which is extremely dangerous for the unknowledgeable and inexperienced -- the cost will be a fraction of conventional installations.
