The reviews are split pretty evenly. About 45% 5-star, and 42% 1-star. Some say it's just a chunk of brass with no electronics. Some say it's the real deal. I think there's a problem with the listing or the supply chain here. Like, fakes are mixed in with real items. Amazon is known to do some strange and careless things with the automated systems in their warehouses. The original product from Kanto Camera in Japan costs $39 (or around $42+shipping including battery). So if Amazon is selling one for $9.99, that sounds a bit too good to be true.
