right now, the best price/performance in your budget is the t14 gen 2 AMD. and its not a bad machine at all. they will last you for your college career and be able to handle the majority of tasks as a student ( if not all) (the models below gen 2 are mostly underpowered for moderns tasks and the models after are still expensive, and have drawbacks. yes the gen 5 and 6 are pretty good but the they're still 700 to 1000ish.. for your purposes they're not necessary) T14 gen 2 16 gb T14 gen 2 8GB 16 gb ram a bit more expensive, updated design with better screen T14 gen 3 amd 16gb
