https://a.co/d/03Zxlyi1 buy this adapter and you’ll be able to use a standard SR-44/LR-44 battery. The adapter will step the voltage down from 1.5V to 1.35V which is what that meter needs to be accurate.

That is an AMAZING find! You can’t get the mercury battery anymore, but there is an adapter you can buy here: https://a.co/d/03Zxlyi1 that will let you use a standard SR-44/LR-44 battery. The camera itself does not need a battery to operate. The battery is only to power the light meter. I have one of these beautiful cameras myself. I paid a lot more than you did, but mine had just been CLA’d. The OM-1 was my very first SLR my father bought me back in 1976. I took every photography class that the local community college offered back then. I had a full darkroom setup and did all my own film processing and printing. Good times. Now I’m old lol, but I do still process my own film, but instead of printing, I scan my negs into my Mac now. Congratulations on an awesome camera!!
