Something like this would probably be more than adequate. You can buy two and have the redundancy you are looking for. The WD passport drives are pretty good from my experience. I still have one from 15 years ago that is still going strong. You are always going to need to take into consideration backups and potential drive failure no matter the brand. Get the thing you can afford and save up in case the drive(s) fail down the line.
