Reposting because the automod didn't like my Amazon link... I try to time my haircuts/blowouts (no more than 1-2 times a year) around big plans. For the occasions I'm wearing my hair curly (99% of the time), I will usually take the time to do brush curls (mint green Bounce Curl brush) so the curls are really defined. I've also invested in pretty barrettes and side combs. Besides wearing my hair half-up half-down (and play with the amount of hair you pull back and the placement of the barrette - on top of your head can look different than at the back of your head), I'll also sweep a bunch of hair across the top of my head (right to left), and then use a comb to hold the hair on the right side in place. You can also use a barrette if you don't have a comb. My everyday barrette. Not inexpensive, but really high quality and the mixed metals go with everything. Something more fun and reasonably priced. Also looks great with the side sweep and feels like you're on a tropical vacation.
