So he looks like a puppy and it’s not as bad then because the surface area is relatively small but when they get bigger, you will have fur tumbleweeds rolling thru the house and it’s not just when the coat blows. They shed 24/7/365. Twice a year it’s worse. Get a Furminator brush and brush him out when he blows the coat. It’s a few days of brushing and he’ll be much happier in the warm months. Plus as your puppy gets older they will dig and get very dirty. Logan is 65% ASD and 35% GP. At 200lbs, that’s a lot of fur. He is much happier after a good brushing when he blows the coat. You mentioned you’re working on a fence. Keep in mind they dig as the get older and can jump pretty high. I would look into underground fence spikes. https://a.co/d/0ivZP7LZ I don’t have a fence because it’s cost prohibitive but do have a tie out attached to a tree. He gets 50’ of cable so he can wander around and has his dig spot, shady area and sunny spots. I use 1/4” steel cable and heavy duty carabiners at each end. The tree side is attached via an eye bolt and a heavy duty swing chair spring. The spring is to ease tension if he runs to the end and doesn’t stop. He did that twice and quickly realized when to stop. Now it’s not an issue. The cable is replaced once a year as over time they get kinked. I actually have two dogs, ASD and a pit mix so there’s two cables with turnbuckles to keep them from tangling. Summer time is ‘ruff’ on him
