I'm 65 and also a person that can't go barefoot. I hate being barefoot. My feet are also narrow and very flat, so I MUST have arch support or they'll be hurting in no time. Butt I don't like the "old lady" look of some of the orthopedic sandals (although I do have a couple pair of Vionic sandals that are cute and comfortable). I had great luck with these knock off Birkenstock sandals I got on Amazon. At first they seemed hard, but they had good arch support. Also, I bought an inexpensive leather punch to put some extra holes in the straps for a tighter fit and keep them on my feet. I like wearing them around the house and on errands I bought a brown and black pair in this style and I think they're stylish looking. cushionaire sandals
