i was told they’re cooling towels, lol. they’re great sweat rags, but a piss poor excuse of a cooling towel. if anyone reading is under the gun of the heatwave rn, i’d highly recommend a cooling towel or at least a misting spray bottle to help you cool externally too. the upcoming temps will be high enough to where sweat alone may not be enough to help you keep properly cool. if you need a good cooling towel, frogg toggs sells a fantastic cooling towel for $10 each. while i provided a link to an amazon page selling it, there’s plenty of places you can get it besides amazon if you despise buying from them like i do. if you get one, i recommend sticking it in the fridge overnight between shifts and getting 2 if you can afford to. i throw one on my neck as soon as i step out of my personal vehicle, and take the other and throw it over an A/C vent so it’s ice cold by the time i need to rotate them. pair them with a couple of plastic water bottles (or ideally one of the big water jugs filled w/ice water), and it will help immensely with preventing overheating. please remember to hydrate and take breaks from the heat yall. no part of this job is more important than you clocking out and going home safe each night.
