I went with a 230w pack HP original for my omen 15 in 2013. Just got a omen 16 came with a 150w pack and had the 'hot potato' pack issue again. Plugged in the 230w and it works great and only ever get warm to the touch now. Link to pack I used. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B53C2RHD
That 150w adapter still gets 'hot-potato' My original 200W omen 15 pack would over heat and after melting one I ended up finding I could replace it with a 230W pack at 19.5v Well I still have that 230W pack and its the same 19.5V as this 150W that came the omen 16 slim; with the same 4.5mm jack. So I plugged it in and it works fine and now its only ever warm to the touch. Not cheap but look for a M41303-001 charger. Just upgraded from my omen 15 4800h to this Omen 16 (16-an0003nr) and I love it. However lets talk about the 150w power pack ( m85394 ) that it comes with. It gets too dang HOT! I don't always work out of a 70deg regulated room. For 2 months of the year I'm on my RV and down south with the AC running it can get to 85deg in the room.
