If your phone gets noticeably hot, it will slow things down. Leave it open instead in the car, that helps with the heat much more. What made a big difference to me was getting a wireless charger that's made of tempered glass and aluminum. My phone gets much less hot than before with those plastic, crappy ones or the gimmicky "cooling" ones that have a fan. I do have wireless android auto though, which was made possible with an adapter from Amazon. If you're interested, here it is. Dual coil, high quality materials and magsafe on the right side. You can also charge other things in the middle. It worked better then anything else on my z Flip 7 and the phone stays perfect put as long as you have any magsafe case on it (I use the Thinborne).
