I love it. I also purchased it from micro center. I don't use it for hard core gaming. I use it for code work, compiling, self hosted AI, And then on the weekend I play Dota2. I did load up ARK(game) and its beautiful graphics. Besides the 'hot potato pack' I have no regrets. I was back at micro center for something else 7 days later and I looked over all the other laptops and still am happy with my choice for price. Only complaint is keyboard is a little more left than my omen 15 so my fingers sometimes produce gibilty gook for a second till my brain goes 'oh ya shift a tad left' Oh it only has one NVMe slot! I had two 2TB western-digital black drives https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QV5KJHV?th=1 running in my old omen15 and was shocked when I opened up the omen 16 to find no second card slot. I pulled the 1TB drive out and put in the 2TB. Then purchased this external unit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G14NBCS?th=1 for the other 2TB drive. I just plug it in and run rsync to back up to it. kind of annoying. I had a few issues installing Linux on it. Linux mint 22.3. It didn't see the graphics card with the GUI driver installer. Installed Nvidia drivers manually. ''' $ sudo apt install nvidia-driver-595''' and all worked well Keyboard RGB was tough to figure out but look here for that. https://github.com/OmenLinux/omen-rgb-keyboard Got it working and set. I don't change the RGB after I set it. My AI model running on it seems to like my choice: ⚖️ Final Verdict If you need powerful performance in a stylish, screen-focused package, the Omen 16 is very good.
