It will never look as good as a bluray, but my bluray player is this one: https://www.amazon.com/Sony-UBP-X700U-Theater-upscaling-Included/dp/B0DWH36G9J and I will say it makes my older DVDs look the best they have ever looked on a big screen. Again, not as good as a BluRay, but really good for a DVD. Cheaper/older DVDs look the worst on it, as those are often barely better than VHS lol Honestly if you can afford it I'd buy one, try it out, and if you don't like it, just return it. Probably the best way to see if it's worth your time! The player i bought is I believe no longer made, and I am seriously thinking about buying another UHD player because I'm concerned companies are going to stop making them and I want a backup!
