You could try something like this. They also make them for DisplayPort if you really wanted that over HDMI for any reason. They plug into a video out port and HDMI type A port (for power) and output USB C video and power for the glasses. I got that cable for my XReal Air 2 Pro glasses. Windows support has been pretty shit so I haven't used them in a long time. Guess I could try again on the Steam Machine, though. I was really hoping the Machine had USB C video out to use with a portable monitor to take places and easily connect, but I suppose can always use this cable.
