Of course!Honestly, Sensodyne is perfectly fine! Not rinsing the toothpaste out is actually what you’re supposed to do, a lot of people typically rinse toothpaste out, but technically you’re supposed to just spit and let the rest sit on your teeth. When patients are high risk for decay or sensitive we even recommend what’s called the “smear technique.” This is where you grab some of your toothpaste and put it into your aligner before bed and just let it sit over your teeth all night, but we usually recommend it with prescription toothpastes like Prevident or ClinPro (both are toothpastes you can ask your dentist for a prescription). I personally use Colgate Cavity Protection in the morning and ClinPro at night. Coffee itself is acidic, and while it doesn’t necessarily cause decay by itself, the acidity over time can make teeth more prone to decay, but as long as you’re rinsing your mouth out with water after drinking it, you should be okay.Rinsing your mouth with water after sugary foods is fine. The bacteria that causes decay likes to feed on sugars, but as long as it’s not sticky foods you’re eating, you should be okay. It’s more concerning when people eat things like gummies, or other sticky candies. Because they stick to the grooves of your teeth and it’s hard to wash out, which makes you more prone to cavities if you’re not brushing. Honestly, I think you’re doing great! Don’t stress yourself out. See your dentist regularly, keep using your toothpaste and rising and you should be fine!If you’re worried about cavities and can’t brush right away you can also just swish with a mouthwash like ACT right after eating. It has fluoride which can help neutralize things. You can also use something like EverSmile. We recommend this to patients who are always on the go.I’ll include the link. https://a.co/d/07NsESSs Just spray it into your aligners before you pop them in and it helps eliminate bacteria, helps keep your aligners clear and fresh 🙂
