They make "tablet" type units that give you CarPlay in cars without them or even ones without screens. They're very affordable and are things you add yourself (I wouldn't even use the word "install"). Here's an example from Amazon. How / where you mount it is the worst part of the job. Shops are going to be pricey. I doubt you'll drive home from a shop without spending $500+ for a head unit, install hardware, and installation labor. The least expensive head unit from Crutchfield will run you $200-250 just to start and shops may charge even more.
