The lights and winch work with the stock TX/RX. You can upgrade to a different motor, you just need an adapter that has the little red plug (JST PLUG) that comes off the ESC like this. I am still using the pro scale lights and stock TQi transmitter with my HobbyWing Fusion SE (best motor upgrade IMO) so I’m still able to use all the diff lockers and shifter. The TRX4 has got to be one of the best crawler platforms for the $$. Yes, there are some other really good brands, but as far as durability the TRX4 wins hands down. I’ve used and abused mine almost like a basher and the biggest things I have broken are body parts, typically not mechanical parts. Plus there are more upgrades and replacement parts than just about any other platform aside from the SCX10 lineup.
