Since you listed your budget in USDs, I assume that you're in the US. I assume that 11" is compact enough for you, but may be wrong. Walmart still has the Samsung Tab S10 FE for $350, though this sale will probably end in a day or two. The S10 FE is a 10.9" tablet with a powerful processor and 7 years of Android updates and support. It should last you another 8 years. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-S10-FE-128GB-10-9-Screen-with-S-Pen-Brand-New-Android-Tablet-International-version-X520/16482174005 If you want a smaller tablet, I can recommend the 8.7" Samsung Tab A11 (no plus). I have an A11 and like it quite a bit. The A11 has the Helio G99 processor, which is decent for a budget tablet. Its screen resolution is just okay at 800x1340 pixels or about 179 PPI. A big plus is that it will also get 7 years of Android updates and support. I recommend the 8GB version over the 4GB version to ensure longevity. Walmart has the 8GB version for $192 and I have seen it on eBay for as low as $180. If you will consider a tablet that doesn't receive long Android support, may I suggest the 8.4" Headwolf FPad7. The FPad7 has Android 14 (16 is current) and may get one upgrade, but there is no guarantee. The FPad7 has a really stellar screen resolution at 1600x2560 pixels, or about 358 PPI. It also has the more powerful Dimensity 7050 processor plus 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The Fpad7 is $220 on the Headwolf website. I bought a cheaper tablet from there. The purchase process was good but a little slow. The tablet is nice. https://www.headwolf.net/product/params?code=F7 If you can find one, the new Poco Pad C1 might be good for you. It's a 9.7" tablet with a 1280x2048 screen resolution. Its processor is roughly equal to the G99. It comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Its twin sister, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7", only comes with 4GB of RAM. Amazon has the Redmi version for $168 or $199, depending on its storage.
