Three (3) ibuprofen tablets (200mg ea) plus two acetaminophen capsules (500mg ea) every 6 hours, as recommended by the surgeon Before surgery, I found the best care for an external hemorrhoid was frequent baths and manual massage of the hemorrhoid. When you can stand it, do your best to push it back inside your anus. The fiber supplements that work best for me are Walmart's Daily Fiber Gummies (chicory root fiber); Costco's fiber gummies didn't work for me. Every body is different. You can manage this and, hopefully, avoid surgery.
