It's really good, in vertical mode it basically accomplishes what the pocket taco is going for, but better because it doesn't cover the screen (e.g., can have a video playing in split screen, play DS vertically, etc.) and can be stored on the device by rotating 180 degrees. Vertical and horizontal just dpad are good for RPGs or platformers, and super subtle for e.g., the bus or a plane. It just looks like you're using your phone. Normal horizontal mode with the analog sticks is fine for like PS2 or so, good to have full controls in a pinch, but not ideal for a modern dual analog game. I never really used it with the magnetic ring it came with because that made it twice as heavy and 50% thicker, and was finicky to rotate in and out of the right position. With this set up it's extremely light and small and makes it really easy to just always have with you.
