I am 6.5 weeks post-op and had minimal pain for the first 6 weeks, fortunately. The worst day for me was the day after nerve block wore off but it was mostly just achy. After 1 week of pain meds, I was able to manage with ice and Tylenol or Advil. I was able to stop using the sling this week and it’s been more uncomfortable and sore/achy. For me, I have not had trouble sleeping in a recliner. I like sleeping on my back and my arm feels supported. I read somewhere on here to buy a travel neck pillow to use when in the recliner and it’s been one of the best purchases for this surgery. I’ll share the one I got below… I unclasp it and leave it open and just use it as a regular pillow. It has helped me to sleep comfortably on my back… I’m still in the recliner, but hoping to get back to a bed in the next few weeks.
