Oh man, I just wanted to update. Turns out I didn't need to replace the evaporator to solve the leak. I injected this stuff called "Red Angel"... It was the ONLY sealant that worked. All the Autozone / O'Reillys sealants failed to seal. They didn't do any damage, but they just didn't work. Holy crap it's been a year and the AC is better than ever. The evaporator replacement was going to cost almost $2K... Out of desperation, I tried a bottle of Red Angel while doing a refill... Total cost? About $60 with the oil filling hose. Here in Arizona, you can die without AC quite literally. This is what I used: https://a.co/d/05UxJWlS (2 ounce) And this is the hose attachment: https://a.co/d/0amqtjzb I already had an R-134a recharge hose with a gauge. Attached the oil injector to it, filled it up with the Red Angel, attached a bottle of R-134a, recharged as usual... Air got cold... It's stayed cold ever since. 11 months so far.
